1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your booking and stay at Ala Amid Bed & Breakfast (“Ala Amid,” “we,” “us,” “our”), located at 8 B.M. Road, Brgy. San Manuel, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan 5300, Philippines. By making a reservation, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Reservations

Reservations may be made directly through our website (powered by ReservationKey), by email at reservations@amidpuertoprincesa.com, by phone, or through authorized third-party booking platforms. A reservation is confirmed once you receive a written confirmation from us or our booking partner.

Rates are quoted in Philippine pesos (PHP) and may be subject to change without notice. The rate quoted at the time of confirmation is the rate that applies to your stay.

3. Payment

Payment terms are specified at the time of booking. We accept cash, major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), and bank transfers. Some rates may require advance payment or a deposit to confirm the booking. Any balance is due upon check-in unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Cancellation & refund policy

Our standard cancellation terms are as follows, unless a different policy is specified at the time of booking (e.g., for non-refundable rates or peak-season bookings):

• More than 7 days before check-in: Free cancellation; deposits refunded in full.
• 3 to 7 days before check-in: 50% of the first night may be charged.
• Less than 3 days before check-in: The first night may be charged in full.
• No-show: The full first night will be charged; the remainder of the reservation may be released.

For event bookings (Andrea Garden Hall, Isabel, Gabe's Pavilion, Gabe's Court), separate cancellation terms apply and are set out in the event contract.

Refunds are processed back to the original method of payment within 14 business days of cancellation confirmation.

5. Check-in & check-out

• Check-in: 2:00 PM
• Check-out: 12:00 noon
• Early check-in / late check-out: Subject to availability. A flat fee of PHP 500 applies for extensions between 2:00–6:00 PM. After 6:00 PM, an additional night may be charged.

A government-issued photo ID is required at check-in for every adult guest, in accordance with Philippine guest registration regulations.

6. Children, extra guests, and pets

• Children 12 and under stay free when sharing existing beds with parents or guardians.
• Extra persons beyond the standard occupancy of a room are charged at PHP 850/night with breakfast or PHP 750/night without.
• Pets are welcome in our Garden Suites only, subject to a minimal pet fee. Pets are not permitted in other room types or in food-service areas. Owners are responsible for any damage caused.

7. House rules

To keep the property restful for all guests, please observe the following:

• Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Music and gatherings should be kept respectful of other guests.
• Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas. Smoking inside rooms or function spaces is prohibited and will incur a deep-cleaning fee.
• Outside food and drinks are welcome at the discretion of management; some restrictions apply during event bookings.
• Visitors who are not registered guests must check in at the front desk and may be subject to a day-use fee.
• Any damage to the property, furnishings, or equipment caused by you or your party will be charged at replacement cost.

8. Our liability

We take care to maintain a safe and well-kept property. However, to the fullest extent permitted by Philippine law:

• We are not liable for personal injury or loss of property arising from your use of the pool, garden, common areas, or recreational facilities, except in cases of our gross negligence.
• We are not responsible for valuables left in rooms. Use of the in-room safe (where provided) or the front-desk safe is recommended for cash, jewelry, passports, and electronics.
• We are not liable for delays, cancellations, or losses arising from third-party services (tour operators, transfers, payment processors), force majeure events (typhoons, power outages, government action), or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

9. Tours and third-party services

When we arrange tours, transfers, or other activities through third-party operators, we act as a booking agent. The operator is responsible for the conduct, safety, and quality of the service. Cancellation, refund, and liability terms for tours are governed by the individual operator's policies.

10. Force majeure

Neither party will be liable for failure to perform any obligation under these terms due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to typhoons, earthquakes, floods, fires, pandemics, government restrictions, and disruptions to power, water, or transportation. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or refund affected bookings on a case-by-case basis.

11. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes arising from your booking or stay will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. The terms in effect at the time of your booking confirmation are the terms that apply to your stay.
